Happy news – evaluation and international accreditation of the study branch “Social welfare” and all its Bachelor and Master study programs at European Christian Academy is accomplished with positive results! Glory to God!
Participants of the NORDPLUS netweorking organization “WE-THINK” gathered for meeting in Klaipeda University, November 27-29, 2023. Representatives from European Christian Academy (LV), Klaipeda University (LV) and VID-Specialized University (NO) joined to work out the Intensive course program for master degree students in social work and social entrepreneurship “Accelerating social entrpreneurship for social sustainability”.
The new joint master study program “Social entrpreneurship and social work” is developed in cooperation between partners of the international consortium – VID Specialized University (NO), Klaipeda University (LT) and European Christian Academy as coordinating institution. The first meeting of the interuniversities’ team was moderated by prof. Sonata Sonata Mačiulskytė (KU) and prof. Skaidrite Gūtmane (ECA). Development of the program envisages several steps. The networking platform “WE-THINK” was created for an experimental piloting course for the project. In order to promote development of the Social Europe consciousness, Europan Commission organizes a “Have Your Say for Reinforcing Social Europe”. Key documents like “European Social Pillar of Social Rights”, “20 Key Principles” and “Strong Social Europe for Just Transitions” are recommended for discussions and analysis. The seminar for LChrA students was held online in October 6, 2020; the seminar was hosted by specialists of the Caritatyive social work study programme.
Graduates from Latvian Christian academy have been noted and awarded for excellency in their professional field. Mrs. Eva Viļķina (“Social Entrepreneurship”, Master degree) was awarded as “Pride of Latvia” in late 2018; Mrs. Ārija Martukāne (“Caritative social work”, Master degree) was decorated with the Three Stars Order in May, 2019. Also highly professional qualification of graduates has been noted by Latvian media and society.
In December 8, 2017, Latvian Christian academy was awarded for successful implementation of the ERASMUS+ mobility studies program.
