Agreement with Klaipeda University (LT), Kolping University of Applied Sciences (LT), St. Ignatius Loyla College (LT) and Helsinki University (S) was signed regarding free Doctoral study opportunities opportunities in Finland.
Within the frame of the European Social fund project “Assessment of the higher education quality in Latvia” (2012) a joint European and Latvian team of experts worked also in Latvian Christian academy. Experts recommended to start to work on at least two doctoral study programmes. One of the experts, prof. S.Krūmiņa-Koņkova from Latvian University, summarized: “Teaching staff of the Academy testifies to the highest quality of academic research and foundation of the quality of the Academy is its methodological excellence.” Building up doctoral studies was recommended by experts of all study directions and programmes.
Now Doctoral studies in Social work and Caritative social work are possible!
Latvian Christian academy, Klaipeda University (Lie=thuania) and University of Lapland (Finland) have signed the Consortium Agreement about Doctoral studies in Social work. This is huge step forward especially because in Latvian Classificatory of sciences there is no section “Social work”, consequently they who wanted to progress, signed up for “Sociology”.
Those who are interested in those new study opportunities we welcomed to apply at the Study department of our Academy and to come for interview. Application forms must be sent in till October 10 in the current study year.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Head of the Doctoral study programme prof. Skaidrīte Gūtmane and asoc. prof. Aivars Lasmanis.
Spring school for Doctoral students to get ready for their innovative studies is provided in March – May 25.
