Discussion about perception of Icons in modern world

Continetal Art Centre (The Netherlands) organized seminar-discussion (online) about fascinating subject – creation of Icons in the context of modern European society in October 15-16, 2022. Is traditions still there, and if it does – how? How do we perceive it? The discussion was moderated by Sir Leen la Riviere, Director behind the CAC.

Meeting with the board of European Association of Social Anthropologists

Director of the Scriptology and calligraphy department at Christian Academy prof, DrHC George v Durtanossky (Berlin University, Germany / Macedonia) met the board of European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) in October 3-5, 2022. Possible future cooperation was discussed. Prof. Durtanossky will report to the Senate about the progress important for the Academy.

Icon Painting Summer School – August 2020!

Latvian Christian Academy in AUGUST 10-16, 2020, organizes SUMMER SCHOOL IN ICON PAINTING to go through all phases of Icon painting starting from preparation of the Icon board until the final varnish of the ready painting. Summer School provides theoretical and practical basis for canonical Icon painting.
Date and venue: August 10-16, in Jūrmala (Latvia), Bulduri (address: Vienības prospekts 23), in the premises of Latvian Christian Academy.
Training fee: 250 EUR + materials.

Excursion of art students to unique monasteries in Pskov

Study direction „Arts” accredited for 6 years

In June 3, 2013, Accreditation committee of Latvian Ministry of education and science awarded 6 years accreditation (till 2019) to the study direction “Arts” at Latvian Christian academy. The study direction comprises two academic study programmes: that of Bachelor of humanities in arts and Master of humanities in arts.
