EC organization EZA (“European Center for Workers’ Questions”) launches an international joint project “TU strategies to promote good labour relations in a changing industrial landscape” in cooperation with Latvian Christian academy, ACV-BIE (Belgium), CARTEL ALFA (Romania), RECHT EN PLICHT (Belgium), UNASM (Macedonia) and USO (Spain). The first seminar titled “Criteriology aspects for quality assessment of Social dialogue in the Baltic States” was held in April 24-25, 2014, at Latvian Christian academy. Experts from different EU countries took part: Matthias Homey (EZA research expert, Germany), Volker Scharlowsky (Germany), Guy Van Gyes and Jan Van Peteghem (HIVA, Belgium), prof. Elvyra Aciene and prof. Indre Dirgeliene (Klaipeda university, Lithuania), political analyst Aimar Altosaar (Estonia, ETOK), Dr. Ivars Indāns (European external actions service), sociologist Juris Osis, Secretary General of the Latvian Trade Unions’ Ass. Pēteris Krīgers. Particiapants of seminar visited the MAXIMA food store chain headquarters to get acquainted with social dialogue and collective agreement issues.
