Seminar for social work researchers titled “What is interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in social work?” was held at European Christian Academy in May 9, 2026. Research question: how to deal with current burning issues adequately and complex for benefit of our clients? For that there is urgent need in multifaceted approach from wide spectrum of disciplines, they help to avoid “private and arbitrary opinions”. Whereas transdisciplinarity works for better dialogue between social work research and society and for shun use of separatated social work methods. Interesting discussions followed after presentation by prof. I.Wietkowich from Ljublana University. Mr. David Ionnu Nicolescu (RO) discussed transdiciplinary approach to youth protests against adults. – It was refreshing and insightful! The discussion helped to understand why the interdisciplinary and transdiciplinary approach to social work is among burning issues in social work in EU countries.
