Solemn Latvian Christian Academy Senate meeting was held in December 10 when two people were awarded with the Honorary Doctor of the LChrA (Doctor Honoris Causa) degree. Eskil Albertsson (Swedish Alliance Mission) and Jan Gossner (former organizer of Diaconal work across Europe, lecturer and pastor; Norway). Cooperation with Swedish and Norwegians partners started back in mid-nineties when the Academy was just opened and their support helped to shape the concept of Christian social ministry and theology. The Diplomas of DrHC to Mr. Albertsson and Mr. Gossner were awarded by the Chairman of the Latvian Council of Higher Education prof. J.Vētra. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the Holy Synod of Latvian Orthodox Church Ioann Sichevsky, Archbishop of the Latvian ev.luth. Church Jānis Vanags, guests from abroad and representatives of Christian organizations in Latvia.
