Professor Wolfgang Wagner, Dr HC, passed away in January 10, Germany. He was lecturing at the Academy since early 90-ies, and together with his wife Sigrid he moved to Latvia in early 2000 for work at the Academy for several years. His course in Christian psychology helped to develop method of integrative theology at the Academy, promoted interest in relationships between Christian faith and human psychology, invited to analyze human psyche in multi-faceted depth. It was both novel and unknown in Latvia those days, and his involvement helped to turn the Academy in the direction of academic research besides regular teaching engagement. He was our bridge to several German and Swedish institutions, and we had privilege to welcome their specialists due to prof. Wagner’s international reputation. Prof. Wolfgang Wagner was elected Doctor Honoris Causa of Latvian Christian Academy. We had privilege to know prof. Wagner as highly academic and charming colleague. Today our deepest condolences go to Mrs. Sigrid Wagner and family in Kitzingen. May his noble soul rest in God’s peace.
