There are three types of Summer schools provided:
- Caritative social work or Client oriented social work. You will acquire knowledge in Patristic anthropology for effective work with client. You will be introduced to whay anthropological knowledge offers more efficientr knowledge than mere psychological understanding of the clients’ needs. Summer school is offered every summer in the first week of July.
- Summer school or Intensive course in Calligraphy and Textology. Every year one week in July.
- Icon painting – basic of caninical icon painting for further studies in the Bachelor or Master study program “Bible Art”. Upon graduation of the school you will be awarded with Cerificate of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education HCERES (France), “Golden Label” for quality.
Historically we have had Summer School “AESTHETICS OF LATVIAN IDENTITY: SIGNS IN SACRED ART” IN JULY 11-21, 2016
European Christian academy welcomes students and academics to attend the State supported Summer school in July 11-21, 2016, topic “Aesthetics of Latvian identity: Signs in sacred art”. Students will be introduced to heritage of Latvian painter Janis Rozentāls (1866 – 1916) – his altar paintings are exposed in Lutheran churches around the country (Kurzeme and Riga), showing close links between the history of the nation during WWI and unique reading of the Gospel narrative.
ummer school offers also visits to unique Barocco churches in Kurzeme. Participants of the Summer school will be awarded with Certificate (worth 3 ECTS).

Summer school at Latvian Christian academy was started in July 11, 2016. Rector of the Academy prof. Skaidrīte Gūtmane adressed participants from Estonia, Lithuania, Czhech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Uzbekistan and China; they were introduced to the Program. Students will attend theoretical lessons dealing with history of Christian art in Latvia by periods, focusing on Latvian national perception of the Gospel in the painter’s Janis Rozental’s Altar paintings. Also practicall creative lessons are offered where students are challenged to express their personal involvement. Stipends for the Summer school are provided by the State Education Development Agency (VIAA).
European Christian Academy is located near the Baltic Sea in natural environment. This is unique possibiliyty to combine rest with high quality time in Jurmala!
