EC-EZA seminar at the Academy

25.-27. maijā, 2023, Akadēmijā norisinās starptautisks EK-EZA (Eiropas Centrs Strādājošo Jautājumos) seminārs “Sociālais dialogs un ražošanas attiecības Baltijas valstīs un citās ES valstīs Eiropas Sociālo tiesību kontekstā”. Paredzētas diskusijas un darbnīcas. Tēma nozīmīga sociālajiem darbiniekiem, karitatīvajiem sociālajiem darbiniekiem, makro līmeņa speciālistiem.

Two days seminar with participants from diverse Universities on Christian social work development.

European Christian Academy was considered by Christian Social Work Association as innovative for social work development in Europe. Among social work specialists and educators from Norway, Wheaton College (USA), EHB (Germany), CHE (The Netherlands), CHAT (Poland), Partium (Romania) will give reports on Christian work innovations and foresights. European Christian Academy will report on importance of sytemic knowledge in anthropology which comes from Judeo-Christian revelation and Church fathers in Patristics. Innovation which streams from “antique” sources has become in society of risk we live in of great importance for professional client-oriented social work development in the 21st century. Reports will be given by prof. Skaidrīte Gūtmane, assist. prof. Guntis Dišlers, assist. prof. Dace Dolace. Mentioned teachers will take part in three workshops held in May 10-11, 2023, in The Netherlands. The conference is organized by University of Applied Sciences of Socoial Work (CHE) (The Netherlands). Two days together to exchange ideas, to network and to explore options for joint study programs.

Students from St. Ignatius Loyola University of Applied Sciences

In April 10-22, 2023, seventeen students from St. Ignatius Loyola University of Applied Sciences attended intensive course to master piloting module “Audit of social servicess”, its goals and tasks. From Lithuanian side the course was managed by assist. prof. Egle Purvaneckaite and ass. prof. Laimute Anužiene. N

Lectures for social work specialists in Jelgava district

Seminar for social workers, social rehabilitators and other specialists in helping professions from Jelgava district was held in April 4, 2023. Prof. Skaidrīte Gūtmane lectured on topic “Anthropological innovations for development of the client-oriented social today”. Second part of the day was organized by three workshops: “Community sensitivity and delopment”, “Stability, order and morality”, “Kinship, safety, security, empathy”.

Senate meeting together with employers

Senate of Latvian Christian Academy held meeting together with invited representatives of employers of the social work students, April 14, 2022. Results of the pre-diploma and qualification fieldworks of students of the study program “Bachelor in Caritative social work” were analyzed and discussed in cooperative way. Secretary General of Latvian Free Trade Unions Ass. Mr. Egils Baldzēns, director of the social care center “Kurzeme” and president of Social care and rehabilitation institutions ass. Annual “Welfare Day”

Annual “Social Welfare Day” gathers both graduates and students from Social work and Caritative social work study programs, currently in May 19, 2021. Program: discussion about the role and prestige of social worker’s profession and criteria for its effectiveness. Disucssion was moderated by the head of Association of the Professional Christian Social Workers Mrs. Aina Āriņa. The question was: how to follow requirements of the Law of Social services with regards to Caritative social work and how employers evaluate the performance quality of graduates?
